I have been teaching for 9 years and have experienced a variety of different settings. I began my teaching career in a low socioeconomic school in northeast Texas teaching language arts and economics to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. From there I transitioned to 5th grade working with struggling learners in the area of language arts and math. After my son was born, I began teaching in Austin at Kiker Elementary where I specialized in inclusion and worked with students from kindergarten to 4th grade. This is the second year I have elected to join Ms. Mathews and the expert 4th grade teaching team at Kiker Elementary and look forward to contributing to another productive academic year for our campus.
